Faculty Development Program
Led by Susan L. Rosenthal, PhD, the goal of the faculty development program is to allow all faculty to flourish professionally by having the opportunity to enhance their skills and competence, achieve career advancement and professional satisfaction, and develop leadership skills consonant with individual goals and the departmental and institutional mission and strategic priorities. Programs and resources are available to the Department of Pediatrics faculty:
Individual meetings and small group events tailored to particular needs are available for all faculty in the Department of Pediatrics.
A seminar series designed to provide faculty with insight on developing an academic niche and on steps for planning career growth.
An annual workshop open to all pediatric faculty is held to promote interpersonal and leadership growth.
The CV Faculty Development Committee provides feedback on the curriculum vitae and personal statement of faculty members planning for promotion.

Columbia Women’s and Children’s Health Faculty Leadership Academy
An annual program offered to ten participants per year from the Departments of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the pediatric division of the Department of Psychiatry.
A formative review in which faculty note clinical, research, educational, and service achievements over the past year and meet with division directors to discuss long- and short-term goals.
