Conducting inspired research that transforms children's lives.

Research

The Department of Pediatrics is committed to using inspired science and translational research to address the greatest threats facing children in the 21st century, including obesity and malnutrition, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, infectious diseases, genetic disorders, asthma, and prematurity. We are proud to be the recipient of more National Institutes of Health research grants than any other pediatric program in the New York metropolitan area. Our department's 2017 Blue Ridge Institute of Medical Research ranking jumped to #14 (with $17,775,189 in NIH funding) from #20 in 2016 (with $14,06,283 in NIH funding.) Our physician-scientists, informed and guided by their clinical experiences, are driven to move their discoveries to application at the bedside.
