Mariel Eaton Turner, MD

Overview
Dr. Mariel Turner is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Columbia University Medical Center. She received her undergraduate degree from Smith College, and her medical degree from NYU School of Medicine. She completed Pediatrics residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital, followed by Pediatric Cardiology fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center, serving as one of the chief fellows in 2010-11. She then went on to advanced training in Pediatric Interventional Cardiology, also at CUMC, prior to joining the faculty in 2012.
Dr. Turner specializes in pediatric cardiac catheterization and transcatheter interventions. She holds board certifications in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Cardiology, and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. Her research has focused on pulmonary artery growth in patients with congenital heart disease, as well as on interventional therapies for pediatric patients with coronary artery disease. As part of the Pediatric Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, Dr. Turner has also participated in several multi-center clinical trials of catheter-based devices and valves for use in pediatric and adult patients with congenital heart disease. Dr. Turner is active in teaching cardiology fellows, pediatric residents, and medical students at CUMC, and in 2014 she was honored with the Allan J. Hordof Fellowship Teaching Award.
