Dr. Aliva De is an attending physician in the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology at Columbia Univeristy Medical Center and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Columbia University. She specializes in the treatment of children with respiratory diseases particularly asthma, chronic lung disorders of infancy, bronchopulmonary dysplasia,  inetrstitial lung diseases. She is also interested in studying the longitudical effects of sickle cell disease, cancer therapy and stem cell transplant on lung function. She is involved with research and educational activities in several national committees and networks pertaining to the above areas. She is actively engaged in the clinical asthma program at Columbia and in pediatric asthma research. She enjoys teaching medical students, residents and fellows and is thus involved in training the future generation of clinicians.
