The pediatric residency provides trainees with a broad foundation in pediatrics that promotes both individualized and collaborative learning. Residents have the opportunity to pursue diverse and enriching experiences in research, advocacy, quality improvement, community pediatrics, and global health. Our trainees are exceptionally prepared for their next career steps.

Curriculum

Our clinical curriculum exposes residents to the vast resources available at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and New York City.

Scholarly Projects

Scholarly projects link residents with faculty mentors to explore an area of research with the aim of creating new knowledge.

Educational Conferences

Organized conferences, seminars, and workshops are held weekly.

Teach Resident Rotation

All third-year residents rotate through a two-week rotation as a teach senior.

Community Pediatrics Training Program

Through our Community Pediatrics training program residents focus on core concepts: population health, social determinants of health, disparities, cultural humility, and legislative advocacy. 

Health Equity StARR (Stimulating Access to Research in Residency) Program

The CUIMC Health Equity StARR Program offers a dedicated research year, in which residents can allocate most of their time to research and research-related training.

PSTDP Research Track

Columbia's Pediatrician-Scientist Training and Development Program is training pediatric physician-scientists as both superb clinicians and leaders in research to improve child health.
