Liver and Gut
Researchers in Pediatrics are involved in a number of multidisciplinary projects with faculty in other divisions and departments designed to understand and address conditions that affect the liver and gastrointestinal tract. Areas of research include:
- gut motility
- irritable bowel disease
- celiac disease
- autism and its links to the enteric nervous system
- the microbiome and adaptive immunity
- non-invasive diagnostic tools for fatty liver disease
- liver transplantation
- early life risk factors for obesity and fatty liver disease
- gastrointestinal disorders in patients with cystic fibrosis
- promoting healthy weight gain
