Adolescent Health

Members of our department's substantial Section of Adolescent Medicine collaborate with members of other divisions and departments on a range of research topics related to the health and development of adolescents including: 

• obesity prevention and treatment 
• sexual health and prevention of STDs, including acceptance of HPV vaccination 
• prevention and management of HIV/AIDs
• adolescent and young adult male health and barriers to care 
• the role families play in promoting adolescent health 
• adolescent relationships and relationship violence 
• the use of technology in improving health delivery and outcomes
• adolescent reproductive health including transgender care, sexual history taking, LGB care
• emergency contraception and long-acting reversible contraception use by adolescents
• motivational interviewing to facilitate adolescent health behavior change
• adolescent mental health
• underage drinking
